What Am I Thankful For?

⁸  Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! 1 Chronicles 16:8 (ESV)

³⁴  Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! ³⁵  Say also: “Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. 1 Chronicles 16:34-35 (ESV)

²¹  And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 20:21 (ESV)

What Am I Thankful For?

That I live in the USA.

For my health which is good, especially for someone 65

For both my parents, now gone, who molded and shaped me in ways both large and small.

That I’m employed and doing something that’s meaningful and that I absolutely love

For my Associate Pastor Amy, who is amazing.

For my congregation for allowing me to serve, putting up with me and loving me despite my manifold imperfections.

That I just finished a new book, which you’ll be hearing about shortly

That I finished my Camino (Episode 80)

For books and reading in general.

For history and all the lessons both large and small you can learn from studying it

For the fun I have doing videos for my Wargaming Guy YouTube channel

I’m thankful for the Lord opening doors for me in the community. Like Tales From the Scrypt, this podcast, becoming a Chaplain for the Sheriff’s office, being on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce.

I’m thankful for being able to serve overseas, and the people I’ve met there who are amazing.

Thankful for our military and am especially thankful for my Marine Raiders, and the privilege of serving on the board of the USMRA, being its chaplain for years, etc.

That I live in Arizona, hot weather and all!

For friends both old and new

For the Bible which is God’s Word and truth

For God who cares for me in spite of myself

For Jesus who loved me, died for me, came back to life for me.

For the Gospel which is the best news ever.
